Overall, the United Kingdom and Sweden in 1967 were the 2 states with the maximum emission of carbon dioxide which later by 2007 experienced decline. On the other hand, Italy and Portugal began on a lower unit excel of CO2, however, by 2007 they had inclined.
In 1967 the United Kingdom was excelling the highest amount of carbon dioxide (over 10 metric tonnes), which gradually decreased to about 8 metric tonnes in 2007. Likewise, Sweden began around 8 metric tonnes in 1967, then surged to over 10 metric tonnes in a decade and later between 1987 to 2007 it witnessed steady declines of approximately 5 metric tonnes.
Furthermore, Portugal was the lowest CO2 emitting country (Just below 2 metric tonnes) that showed a gradual increase of almost 4 metric tonnes in 40 years’ time and matched Sweden at around 5 metric tonnes. Moreover, in 1967, Italy was just above 4 metric tonnes, and in 30 years’ time witnessed slight raise of 2 metric tonnes.
