Given are the two graphs concerning criminality in the UK. The first reveals key data on the criminal commitment between both sexes of various age groups, whereas the latter indicates the rates of men and women offenders in British prisons.
Overall, it is evident from the information supplied that an overwhelming majority of criminals are males. Another fascinating point is that most crimes occur during adolescence.
From a negligible 2 percent among ten-year-old boys, the male conviction rate soars to 16 percent among 20-year-old ones. The percentage of female offenders, however, meanwhile, climbs from 0 percent among girls aged 10 to some 5 percent among 20-year-old ones. The subsequent age groups of both sexes, however, witness a dramatic decline in criminality. A mere 2 percent of crimes are committed by 60-year-old men, while women of the same age do not commit any offense at all.
As regards prison inmates, men outnumber women 24 to 1. Some 96 percent of all prisoners are men, and the remainder is females.
