you have had bank account for a few years. Recently you received a letter from the bank stating that your account is $240 overdrawn and that you will be charged $70 which will be taken directly from your account. you know that this information is incorrect.
write a letter to the bank. explain what happened and say what would you like them to do about it
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to my express my grievances regarding the banking facilities. Recently, I received a letter stating that my account is overdrawn by $240. In addition, I will be penalized for $70, which will be directly deducted from my account. Being a loyal customer for more than a decade, it was unexpectedly shocking to witness such carelessness from the bank.
Let me explain in detail. Firstly, this information is incorrect because, I have subscribed to SMS alerts, that caution me when I go overboard. Secondly, according to the bank's policy a minimum of $500 needs to be maintained, which I have never fail to comply with. In case of doubt, please feel free to skim through my details. Lastly, I visited the bank last week and was not intimated about any unusual activities, whereas the letter mentions an overdraw of $240, which is a huge amount to spend in such a short span of time.
Therefore, I would like the bank to reverse the charges immediately, in addition to issuing an apology letter for the inconvenience caused. Such mistakes are considered highly unprofessional, yet I hope the same is not repeated in future.
I look forward to your reply.
Yours sincerely,
Mary Smith
