Essay topics:

Your neighbours have recently written to you to complain about the noise from your house/ flat.

Write a letter to your neighbours. In your letter

• explain the reasons for the noise

• apologise

• describe what action you will take

Dear Adam,

I am writing this letter to make an appology for the loud noise from my house that made you disturb.

Let me explain you my situation, surprisingly, my son George was born on 13th december, where as my daughter Jessica birthday also comes very next day of him on 14th of december. Therefore, we celebrated their birthdays last week for two consecutive days.

I'm extremely sorry for the loud music, we should have not played it until late night. Moreover, children were playing games all the night, to make the most of it, but it created an environment of a fish market for our neighbours, for which I'm very embarrassed. Please accept my appology, I promise you that I will be more considerate towards my neighbours in future.

For the future events such as birthdays or family parties, we have decided to celebrate it outside the house, or if in the house we will try to pack up everything before 5pm.

Once again, I say sorry for all the inconvenience.

Thank you

Jay Cutler
