You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to
go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
• say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
• explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
• suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her
I am writing this letter to you to tell you that you'd rather not to choose college as an important purpose for your rest of professional life. Actually, I have done this choice before and now I regret. As you remember I was a top student in my college, however, I have a variety of problems after graduation and when I was seeking a job.
I should confess that you might learn nothing essential for your future career in college because the majority of your professional skills achieved by job experience and job training. You might be such a smart and talented person in college but later when you start your job, your education would begin as well.
If you hired into a company, it would have made an opportunity for you to improve in your professional field and gain success rapidly. As a matter of fact each year you learn a lot of things in many aspects rather than your major, such as punctuality, responsibility, team working, problem solving, ... In fact, such these skills need practical practice and it is not just a theory that your teacher said and you have learnt.
First of all, you had better search your favourite field in which you prefer to work for the future. Second, try to learn every essential information related to your interest. Third try to find a related job and for sure you may get the lowest position in that field. you had better be ambitious and hard working. In my point of view, some jobs suitable for you based on your introverted characteristic are being a programmer or accountant or web designer maybe a decoration designer and jobs like that which needs experience rather than academic knowledge.
I would be happy to hear from you soon and let me know about your decision. Keep in touch with me and say hello to your mother.
Best wishes.
Maryam
