The average prices per kilometre of clothing imported into the European Union from six different countries in 1993 and 2003 are shown in the bar chart below.
The bar chart compares the average prices per km of clothing that were exported from the six countries to the European Union in the year of 1993 and 2003. The data is presented in the unit of Euro Pound.
It is clear that the prices of clothing exported from deprived countries were much lower than that from those affluent counterparts. However, Argentina and Brazil offered the most expensive clothing in both years.
In 1993, price of clothing from Argentina was in the dominant position, standing at staggering 28 pound per km. Likewise, Brazil sold the clothing at about 23 pound per km and that was the second most expensive clothing being imported into the EU. In stark contrast, numbering a mere 3 pound, the price of Bangladesh's clothing was the lowest.
In 2003, the clothing price per kilometer from each country varied greatly. While there was drop in price by 2 pound from Argentina and Japan, China, India and Bangladesh's increased significantly, of which China's clothing price grew by 7 pound and overtook Japan's as the third most expensive clothing importer, reaching 17 pound per km. Lastly, with 23 pound, the average clothing price in Brazil remained constant after a decade.
