The chart shows how frequently people in the USA ate fast food in restaurants between 2003 and 2013.
The given bar chart illustrates the regularity of Americans consuming fast food during the period of 2003 to 2013.
It is evident that the majority of American citizens visited fast food restaurants with the frequency of once a week and several times a month, with the latter experiencing upward trend in 2013. The year of 2013 also witnessed a slight decrease in the common visits of fast food consumers compared to the previous time stamp.
As can be seen from the graph, around one fourth to one third of the American population enjoyed their meals at fast food chains with the regularity of once a week \to twice a month. Starting at 30% in 2003, the figure for weekly visits rose slightly in 2006 by 3% before dropping significantly to around 27% seven years later. The rise for this category was at odds with the drop for monthly customers, since the number of fast food consumers decreased by 5% in 2006 and then rocketed to more than 33% at the end of the period.
Looking at the bar chart in more detail, there was an noticeable divergence in the remaining Americans’visit rates to the fast food establishments/ eateries. While the number of consumers who enjoyed fast food few times a year remained static, that of weekly customers plummeted by 5% in the period of 2006 to 2013. Similarly, those two timestamps witnessed a drop of daily consumers in contrast to the increase of new fast food eaters.
