You are going away to travel for the summer. A friend will be looking after your house while you are away. Write a letter to your friend.
In your letter:
• Say where you are going
• Describe your house
• Explain some of the things your friend must do to look after your house
Dear Max,
Hope you and your family are all well. I would like to thank you for accepting my request to look after my house during the next week.
I am leaving for Tasmania on coming Monday for a week for inspecting one of the company’s offices in Hobart. I will be staying in the Holiday Inn hotel and you can contact me via phone in case of an emergency.
My current house is on the same street where I stayed earlier but this house is fairly smaller than the previous one. It has an open kitchen cum living room, a dining room and two bedrooms at the end of the house with ensuite bathrooms. You can use in the guest room which is next to the dining room. Also, there is a small backyard which I converted into a garden with lots of plants.
The only things I would like you to do is to put the bins out on Wednesday for the garbage truck to collect it and water the plants every alternate day. Also, before leaving the house make sure the gas is turned off.
I have stocked the groceries for the next week and if you are coming on Monday morning instead of Sunday night then please collect the keys from my old neighbour Mrs Smith. I have a flight to catch in the morning so I will leave the house early but I will give you a call before leaving. Also, let me know if you need anything from Tasmania.
I hope to meet you before leaving.
Best wishes,
John
