Displayed in the pie charts is the proportion of water which was used by various sectors in Sydney of Australia between 1997 and 2007.
Overall, it is clear that the food industry spent the highest percentage of water, whereas the lowest figure was accessed by the building industry over the period given.
With regard to the water used in 1997, the food industry accounted for nearly half, which was followed by the percentage of household with 19%. Subsequently, the water spent by manufacturing made up 15%, was three times the figure for the building industry, and another was the percentage of the service industry with 13%.
In the final of the period, there was a slight decrease to 41% in the rate of water spent in the food industry as opposed to the figure for the service industry with a quarter. Subsequently, 21% was the proportion of water usage in the household, which was bigger than the manufacturing with 11% and the building industry with 2%.
