The pictures compare the change of grange park in1920 and the appearance now.
It is clear that the grange park has been changed a lot today. Pond for water plants, fountain, glasshouse and stage for musicians have been removed but also built some new facilities such as amphitheatre for concerts, café, children’s play area, water feature and underground car park.
In 1920, from the entrance on Arnold Avenue, we can see that rose garden and pond for water plants on the right side of entrance while today’s grange park replaced both areas which are café and children’s plants. On the other side of entrance were seats, rose garden and on the top left corner had seats, but the public park today only kept rose garden in the same place.
Walk in from the Eldon Street entrance, there were the fountain right in the middle and the stage for musicians just on the left. By contracts, 4 seats around rose garden and amphitheatre for concerts in the grange park today. On the left side of Eldon Street entrance has same structure as the left side of Arnold Avenue entrance in 1920 but no longer there in today’s public park. Look at right side of Eldon Street entrance, there was a glasshouse now changed to water feature. Go a bit further towards above bottom right corner were seats and now become an entrance for underground park.
