The Graph shows the average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
The manifested graph evinces the mean amount of carbon dioxide, AKA CO2, which was emitted per capita in four different European countries, i.e., the UK, Sweden, Italy, and Portugal in the course of the four-tenths of a century commencing from 1967.
Regarding the graph, as can be seen, the United Kingdom, located in the north of Europe, the number of its carbon emission inexorably dwindled in the duration of this period from ca. 11 metric tonnes to 9 or thereabouts in 2007. Notwithstanding, Sweden initially went through an increase from above 8 to around 10 in the first decade, accompanied by a decline in the rest of the period (5 metric tonnes more or less). But it is worth mentioning that the slope of the latter aforementioned country in the two last decades was milder than the second decade, i.e., from 1977 to 1987.
According to the graph, it can be found that Italy, located in the south of Europe like Portugal, at the onset, experienced a high increase in producing CO2 from above 4 in 1967 to approximately 6 in 1977 while trying to prevent from more emission in the last thirty years. Moreover, turning to Portugal, the amount of its emission constantly escalated from 1 to 6 in 2007 so that the amount of its emission outpaced from Sweden in 2007.
Overall, we can clearly see that; nonetheless, the northern European countries, such as the UK and Sweden, were attempted to decrease the amount of CO2 emissions, the southern countries canceled out their attempts.
