The pie charts below show the average household expenditures in a country in 1950 and 2010.
The pie chart compares the proportion of household spending on different fields in a nation between 1950 and 2010.
It is clear that apart from Housing and Education, expenditures on all other categories witnessed a rapid increase during the research period. Noticeably, families in this nation spent more money on food and other stuff after 20 years.
In 1950, the percentage of household expenditures by Housing was highest, at 72,1% whereas the figure for Food was much lower, at only 11,2%. Meanwhile, 6,6% and 4,4% of average household spending were Education and other categories respectively. At the same time, there was 3,3% of family expenditures spent on Transportation, compared to 2,4% of expenditures by Healthcare.
Twenty years later, spending on Housing saw a dramatic decrease of around 50% to only 22%. By contrast, there were increases in the figures for Food and other kinds, staying at 34% at 34% and approximately 19,2% respectively in 2010. Similarly, While Transportation experienced a slight rise to 14%, the figure for Health care also grew gradually to roughly 4,5%. Additionally, Expenditure on Education went down slightly by nearly 0,3% to 6,3%
