Essay topics:

The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The diagram illustrates the generation of electricity inside a hydroelectric power plant.
Overall, the full-scale model involves a two-way process running throughout the day and consisting of five main stages.
The process of producing electricity commences with the water being stored in a high altitude reservoir, which is followed by the movement of the water out of the reservoir through the opening of the dam. Subsequently, the water flows down into the power station located nearby, waiting to produce electricity. The next step involves the generator being activated by the pressure of water flowing through the turbines linked to the generator. Then, the electricity will be produced and sent out directly to power lines and the national grid for usage.
At night, with a reverse process, water is pumped from the low-level reservoir to the steep pipeline through the former turbines, during which produces electricity. The water later encounters the closed gateway into the high-level reservoir, leading to the reverse direction of the water current and pushing the water down to the power station, leveraging the potential energy to generate additional amount of electricity.
