The graph below shows the production of three forest industry products in a European country, namely timber, pulp, and paper from 1980 to 2000.
The line graph illustrates the number of 3 major products which are made from wood, such as timber, pulp and paper in a European nation from 1980 to 2000.
It can be clearly seen from the graph that there was an upward trend in all wood production. Furthermore, starting from the last position the number of paper products occupied the first place over the period shown.
In 1980, even though pulp production was the highest (about 5.5 million tons) at first, it decreased swiftly to 2 million tonnes, followed by a sharp rise of 7 million tonnes. 5 years later, the number of pulp products rose by 1 million tonnes, which was overtaken that of timber products, and then went up to 10 million tonnes in 2000. Regarding timber production, it reached a peak of 10 million tonnes in 1985, and then it witnessed a fluctuation between 1990 and 2000 after decreasing in 1988.
As for the number of paper products, the figure/the data initiated at 4 million tonnes in 1980, it then increased gradually to 9 million tonnes in 1995, which also surpassed timber production in 1993, before bottoming at 8 million tonnes in 1998, which was the point of convergence of all the products had shown. Eventually, the data for paper manufacturing/manufacture recovered and peaked at 12 million tonnes in 2000.
