The chart below shows a comparison of different kinds of energy production in France in 1995 and 2005.
The pie charts compare the percentage of energy generation coming from five different resources in France over the course of 10 years starting from 1995.
Looking at the graph, it is immediately obvious that Coal and Gas were still the two main sources over the period shown. Additionally, while the proportion of energy produced from Coal, Gas, Nuclear and Other origins increased, the opposite was true for Petrol.
In 1995, about 89% of the total energy was manufactured by Gas, Coal and Petro. Meanwhile, Nuclear and Other resources only contributed a small part in the sum energy manufactured, with 6.4% and 4.9% respectively.
Over the decade ensuing, the rate of energy made from Coal and Gas experienced an insignificant growth, to 30.93% and 30.30% sequentially. Similarly, Nuclear and Other resources also saw an upward trend, with 10.10% for Nuclear and 9.10% for the other one.
By contrast, the figure contributing to the whole energy generated for Petro decreased significantly by approximately 10%, to 19.55%.
