You have been invited to attend an interview for a place studying a course in a college. Unfortunately, because of a previous appointment, you cannot come at the time they wish. Write a letter to the admissions tutor:
- explain your position
- apologize and offer to come on another day or later the same day.
- ask how long the interview will be and whether there will be any tests during it
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for inviting me to the college interview for selection in the master's course of Data Science in your prestigious college. However, I am afraid that I will not be available on the same day because of my appointment with the physiotherapist.
I have to visit the hospital because of the fracture in my left arm on the interview's date as I already took a date of meeting last three weeks ago. They have to remove the fracture and check my arm which got affected by the accident from falling off the stairs. Therefore, I would not be able to attend my selection interview for master's at your university.
By all means, I want to pursue the master's course and if there is any chance to schedule my interview appointment for a day before or a day after. I would be grateful, if you will conduct my interview before or after's the interview's date as per your feasible time.
Moreover, could you tell me the other details of the interview selection such as time duration and any tests to clear before proceeding with the final interview with the head of department and university's registrar. I will be thankful to you by providing me the other details which needs to be done before the interview, so, that I can prepare with my best performance.
I will be glad if you will accept my request for another date to give an interview at the college. I am hoping to hear a positive response.
Yours faithfully,
Shwatank Bhasin
