The two given diagrams depicts the steps and equipments involved in production of cement and concrete. The stages are clearly and coherently represented.
At a glance, there are five steps involved in cement manufacturing; crushing, mixing, heating, grinding and packaging, and only one step is involved in concrete preparation; which is, mixing.
By visualising the first diagram, for cement preparation, two raw materials; Limestone and Clay, are crushed to fine powder. The powder is then mixed well and passed in Rotary heater, where the contents are heated. The heated material is then ground to form fine particles of cement, which is packed in bags of suitable capacity.
In the second diagram, for concrete manufacturing, four raw materials; cement, water, sand and gravel are used. The proportions for gravel, sand, water and cement are 50%, 25%, 10% and 15% respectively. The measured quantities are introduced in concrete mixer to form concrete of required consistency.
