The graph shows the amount of increasing in proportion of population aged 65 and over in Japan, Sweden and USA between 1940 and 2040.
In 1940, Japan allocated 5%, Sweden 7% and USA 9% proportion of population aged 65 and over. However, it is clearly seen that there has been a slight takeoff in USA and Sweden. They reached 10% of proportion almost in 1960, on the other hand, there has been a gradual decline in Japan at that period and remained stable at 2.5 from 1960 to 1985. After that period, there has been marginal increase and reached 10% of proportion in 2030.
In spite of some fluctuation in the expected percentage, the proportion of old people population continued to increase in the next two decades. While, there has been a sharp soar in Japan elderly people population and reached 25% in 2034. Thus, other two countries reached similar proportion with moderate speed in that period of time.
