The maps illustrate the changes which took place in art gallery in Australia between 1950 and now.
It can clearly be seen that art gallery in Australia transformed significantly during the period shown, with the new construction of Asian art and children art school.
In 1950, the courtyard was located in the north of art gallery and in the middle of gallery, there was a sculpture. On the left hand side of the picture, there was a temporary exhibition between a cafe and bookshop. Similarly, the middle European Art was sited between a early European art and Australia art. Finally, there was a entrance in the south of the sculpture.
Now, the courtyard has been converted into three places such as a children art school, a Australia aboriginal art and Australia art. On the west of art gallery, the cafe has been divided into a small cafe room and a toilet. The temporary exhibition, the bookshop, the sculpture and the entrance remain unchanged. Meanwhile, the Australian art has been transformed into a Asia art. Finally, the early European art and middle European art have been stayed in the same place
