The pie charts compare the percentages of water consumption in 5 sectors in Sydney in 1997 and 2007
The pie charts illustrate the proportion of water use in five fields in Sydney in two years, namely 1997 and 2007.
In general, there were a noticeable increase in the percentage of water consumption in service and household, while a downward trend can be seen if we look at the figures for manufacturing, building, and food. It is also clear that the figure for manufacturing was higher than for any other sector over the period shown.
At the beginning of the period, 33% of water was used in manufacturing, compared to only 23% in food and 20% in the building. Over the following 10 years, this country saw the proportion of water consumption in manufacturing drop slightly, to 33%. At the same period, the percentage of water used in food fell to 21%, and the figure for building decreased to 13 %
In 1997, the proportion of water used in household stood at 20%, while the figure for service was lower, at 16% respectively. After 10 years, the percentage of water consumption in household rose considerably, reaching 20%. In addition, service followed a similar trend to that of household, with figures increasing to 16%
