It is important for people to take risks, both in their professional lives and their personal lives. Do you think the advantages of taking risks outweigh the disadvantages?
"Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly," said Robert Kennedy, and many people shared this opinion about taking risks. From my perspective, I also approve of the idea that the importance of risk-taking makes it more beneficial, instead of disadvantageous, to career and personal life.
Some people dare not to accept risks in their jobs and personal lives as they can lead to detrimental outcomes, especially if embraced indiscriminately. Health and property may be the first factors to be adversely affected by this recklessness. In the sports world, there have been many athletes who took reckless risks and then unintentionally caused injuries ending their careers. In the marketplace, if traders did not rush into temporary and unstable profits, bankruptcies causing thousands and even millions of dollars in losses would not have happened. More importantly, morale can also be negatively impacted by taking risks. Failures caused by the recklessness can be too mentally painful to make people lose confidence and bravery, leading to several serious mental illnesses.
However, in my opinion, many people embrace risks selectively, which results in more significant advantages than the drawbacks mentioned. A benefit needing mentioning is that it can be a stepping stone to a career leap. Under no circumstances will man accomplish success in short progress if he does not make at least a risky decision. Self-made businessmen and businesswomen are great examples of this since their reputation might not be widely known if they did not take risks to earn their living at first. Furthermore, failure resulting from risk-taking, as mentioned, can hurt the confidence of a person, particularly a youngster, but it appears to be a worthwhile lesson for one's own. It can be about reducing impulsiveness and narrow-mindedness while making decisions or having an effective plan to set up a business and build a good self-image. This point would prove that doing something that can even be risky appears to be much better than having nothing done.
In conclusion, although risks can be adverse to career and personal lives, taking them wisely instead of blindly would yield more significant advantages than disadvantages.
